Why I love Music:
I'm Nathan Frank, originally from the humble town of Humble, Texas. I'm a conductor, educator, and singer, and I've had the joy of sharing my love for music with audiences both near and far. I've been lucky enough to perform in a variety of styles, from opera to musical theater, where I've been described as having a bit of a rock star vibe mixed with a classical tenor's discipline.
My journey as a choral conductor has taken me all over—from the cultural centers of Washington, D.C., and Chicago to the sunny coasts of Florida and the historic stages in the Czech Republic. I've led choirs in the Pacific Northwest and inspired singers right back home in Texas. Everywhere I go, I bring my passion for choral music and strive for excellence.
Before settling in Atlanta, I taught at several institutions across the country, including Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas. I also immersed myself in the musical community of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where I was the Associate Conductor of Schola Cantorum of Fort Worth and the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Plano.
For a decade, I served as the Director of Worship and Fine Arts at Johns Creek United Methodist Church in Atlanta, leading a vibrant music ministry with over 350 musicians. My goal was always to lift the program to new heights. I also enjoy leading workshops and clinics, especially on applying Bel Canto techniques to choral singing.
Currently, I'm the artistic director of three groups: The Choral Pickup, a professional ensemble known for its precision; the Johns Creek Chorale; and the Tapestry women's ensemble. I love fostering a community of passionate singers and music enthusiasts.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of mentoring countless students, many of whom have excelled in prestigious competitions and earned spots in top All-State Choirs. My aim is to help each student achieve their best, combining technical skill with a genuine passion for music. Whether I'm conducting, teaching, or performing, my mission is to inspire and uplift others through the power of music.
