University of Georgia
A Board-Certified Music Therapist, Amy Baker is a classically trained musician whose primary instrument is voice. Amy graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a degree in Music Therapy and a minor in Latin. Afterwards, Amy completed a 6-month internship working in hospice. Since moving to Atlanta, Amy has worked with many different populations including hospice, mental health and crisis stabilization, children with disabilities, and many more.
A lyric coloratura, Amy's passion is choral music. While attending UGA, she performed in many student ensembles and operas. While a member of the UGA Hodgson Singers, she was featured as a soloist in the recording of their 2017 album Grace Immaculate: Prayers and Love Songs. Since graduating, Amy has sung with the Grammy Award-Winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and has performed in a handful of operas and musicals. Her passion for performing extends past the stage; she has worked in Atlanta's film industry as a background artist and PA for various films and television shows. Amy is currently a member of the Atlanta Master Chorale and serves as a staff singer at her church in Stone Mountain.
Amy hopes to instill a passion for music in all of her students. Her goal is to provide a safe space for young musicians to explore new concepts and to build confidence in themselves and their skills.
When not singing, Amy enjoys spending time with her cat Renly and dogs Frankie and Guinness.
